ALTO SAXOPHONE
“The Climb” 2024 Winner: ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Awards. One of my tunes with an odd-meter spin on the Afro-Latin style Bembé.
“Let Things Be” Beautiful tune by Lucas Apostoleris. From his debut album “Chronicle”. The embedded player starts at my solo, but I highly recommend watching the entire video.
More alto excerpts below subsequent instruments.
SOPRANO SAXOPHONE/FLUTE/CLARINET
This is an arrangement I did at the University of Miami of the Sting classic “Shape of My Heart”. I had to overdub everyone’s flute and clarinet parts (excluding bass clarinet) because of issues at the live performance (video source). Clarinet starts at 1:33, and my soprano sax solo starts at 3:37.
TENOR SAXOPHONE
From The Chivertone Sessions, hosted by drummer David Chiverton. Primary artist is Tal Cohen. This tune is a tribute to a native Israeli delicacy that he cannot stand, “Gavetsch”.
FLUTE
“Inconsciente” by Rafael Piccolotto de Lima. This is a demanding third-stream chamber piece where I play flute in a small orchestra.
PICCOLO
This was a fun virtual project from the summer of 2020. Carlos Mata-Alvarez re-imagined this Animal Crossing tune, "Bubblegum KK” for big band, featuring himself on EWI. Check out his Youtube channel Arcade Bops!
ADDITIONAL ALTO EXCERPTS
